Each of these pin badges starts its life on my computer. I digitally draw the design (based on the very first form I had to fill in after my doctorate!) on my computer, then translate the design into files that can be read by my laser cutter. This machine is the focus of my studio, and I’ve spent years hacking and tweaking it to perfection. I laser cut and varnish the cherry wood piece before adding two metal pin backs and clasps. I then carefully place it on a Cepheid Studio branded backing card, ready for packing and sending to you, its new owner!
